So today I'm going to talk about the second part of "Happy Days." "How to be Happy on Purpose."
It's gonna be EPIC.
Brace yourselves.
Happy Days- Part 2
"How to be Happy on Purpose"
So, happiness is a daily choice.
Lincoln said, "most people are as happy as they have decided to be."
If you decide to be happy, then you will be.
If you decide to be ungrateful in your life, then you will be.
Abe Lincoln was right.
Statistics regarding the benefits of happiness:
Raises sales in the business world by 37 percent.
Raises productivity by 31 percent.
Raises accuracy on tasks by 19 percent.
Contributes to health and quality of life.
This is pure proof! Happiness makes life so much better. Why settle for anything less?
The Apostle Paul was an extreme guy. He suffered through so much for the sake of Christ.
Romans 5:3 says that we can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us to develop endurance.
No matter what we face we can rejoice.
Paul was beaten, shipwrecked, bitten by a viper, flogged, mocked, ridiculed, put in jail, put in prison, tested, tried...enough said? And yet he STILL rejoiced. Wow. He's a role model for sure.
Romans 8:18 says "yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory He will reveal to us later."
Try this for a second, close your eyes and imagine with me. Imagine the worst possible treatment. The worst torture, pain, mockery. And multiply it times a thousand, million, trillion...that is how much glory that we will be revealed to. And that's not even all of it!
2 Corinthians 4:16
"That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day."
We must never give up. The harder life is for us, the harder God is trying to prove a point. He loves us.
Attitude check!
Word of the Lord: If you'll learn to be happy where you are, God will take where you want to be.
Ooohh! That's good. I know that that's something that I have to deal with. Like right now. Today. And tomorrow. And forever.
If we can learn to be content where we are right now in life, that He will take us to that place that we want to go to.
The devil will try to steal your happiness through worry, stress, and offense.
We can't let him steal our happiness. The only way that he can get it is if we give it to him. Don't be an easy target.
There are three things that you can do to maintain your joy/happiness. Ready to hear them. Well, actually your reading them...same difference. :)
1. Cast your cares on the Lord for He will sustain you. Psalm 55:22
2. You can exchange the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. Isaiah 61:3
3. God took care of the birds, and He will take care of you. Matthew 6:25-34
Okay, I'm going to tell you guys something. I feel this is for someone out there who doesn't normally read my posts.
God. loves. you.
I know that right now you are going through a really hard time right now. But listen to me, God cares. It may seem like right now you are getting thrown a bunch of curve balls. But a straight one is coming your way! Believe me!
This is isn't the end of the road. There is light at the end of this never-ending cavern. And it's NOT never-ending. It may seem like it, but their is hope. Yeah, yeah. I'm getting preachy and probably cliche again. LISTEN! God's word is never cliche! Accept that. Believe that.
I just thought that somebody needed to hear that today.
Love you guys.
Something Extra!
Bucket list time! :) My next two are ready to be published!
#7 Travel the world
I think that everybody has this one on their list. It's so original. But I HAVE to do it!
#8 Watch someone ride down Niagara Falls in a barrel
My friend Kelsey came up with this one. At first, it was ride down Niagara Falls in a barrel. But then we decided we would probably die....so that's the change!
