Acts of Kindness?

Now the 'Acts of Kindness' part of out title.
I figure that everyone can use a little bit more kindness in their life, don't you? Of course you do!
A little while ago my mom challenged me and my little sister to do something. She challenged us to do at least one act of kindness a day. That doesn't seem hard, does it? Well believe it or not it is challenging. Every day you have to look for one nice thing to do, but not something so simple as opening the door for someone or carrying their books. Something harder. For example; one day my mom went out of her way and bought a drink for my aunt and took it to her house. Another time my little sister made my moms bed. These things aren't super hard, but you do have to go out of your way.
So I would like to challenge you to do something. It's not very hard, but it does require some patience and hard-thinking. Maybe. I would like to challenge you to do at least one act of kindness a day. I will also do it, so don't worry, your not doing this alone.
It is said that people who give out of themselves are the happiest people. I mean have you ever seen someone is so completely caught up in themselves and are super selfish, have you ever seen them truly happy?
So try to do this. You can do it for one week, or maybe two. How about trying it for a month? Or, you could do through the rest of this school year, or through the whole summer. If you do it frequant enough it may become a habit. After all, it only takes 21 days for something to become a habit. And this may not be such a bad one.

1 Corinthians 13

1 Corinthians 13:
"1 If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

This is our code. My mom commonly calls this the 'love chapter'! After reading it through, it easy to see why! LOL I chose this as our code, or motto, because Love is what binds all of us humans together. Without it we wouldn't be able to function.
It is scientifically proven that if you do not give a new born baby attention or love the baby will die. So you see, we all need love.
Almost all of you should know who Adolf Hitler was. He was the man who hated Jews. We overtook almost half of Europe. When he was a little boy his father was extremely demeaning and mean to him. Around the age of 18 young Adolf ran away from home. When he eventually got to a place of power...well, I think that you can just figure out what happened. But just think, if only his father had shown him love and assurance the holicost may never have happened.
Love is in every fiber of our being. How are you using yours?

Above Average

So what exactly is an Above Average teen? Well, it's someone who goes against the 'status quo'. I am also part of the Rebelution, which is a combined word of rebellion and revolution. It is a group of teenegers who are rebelling against low expectations. That was the birthing of my blog.
An above average teen is a teen who doesn't really care what the world says about them. All that they are really focused on is what God thinks of them and how they are helping to impact the world for Him. Their is a scripture verse that says we are part of this world but not of it. That means that although we may live in a world that is technically living for satan, we are not IT. We do a lot of the things that the world does, we shop, we go to school, we eat (obviously!), we get a job, raise a family etc. But we are not of it. We are of a different race, a whole different people. The human being was chosen by God, made in His image! We are a prime specimen created for power and love. Not to be molded into the world's image. Unfortunately that's exactly what is happening today. Take Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Katie Perry, and Jessica Simpson, to name a few. They all started out as good Christian artists. But what happened? The world came in. It took their pure and virgin hearts and turned them black. What do their songs say about them?
Those are the offspring of the world. But 'average' person. But we, God's chosen people, are ABOVE average! Let's take a look at what above means.
Above-higher in rank, authority, or power.
According to Dictionary.com Abve means to be higher in rank, authority, or power. We have the power to be more than the average person! We have the authority over all other people! We are ABOVE AVERAGE!!!!!!
Just let that sink in for a minute, above average, above average......say it out loud. I am ABOVE average. You are not normal. You are God's chosen vessel to shower this dark and desolate world with His glory and majesty!

Beginning!

Above Average: Acts of Kindness?
This blog is about your average, everyday teenager. NOT!
Most of us when we think of an act of kindness we think of doing something nice for someone when it's conveniant. But it's so much more than that. An act is when you do something. and Kindness is doing something nice. So then, an act of kindness would be when you do something nice for someone that isn't exactly conveniant.
In this journey together we will unleash the tools that can help enable you to be an "above average" person. Not just by doing acts of kindness, but by unleashing your faith into areas where you otherwise would never go.
